FISHING

Our lakes are a valuable resource to us and certainly the fish in them are too. We manage the lakes for our enjoyment and also for fish health. Because our lakes are small they cannot stand consistent fishing pressure and they should not be considered a food source. We need the mindset to be catch and release! Occasionally, on an exception basis, keeping some for a fish fry is ok. Try the Bluegills.

  • Homeowners need to be present when guests are fishing
  • Illinois fish code (ILCS 515 section 5/20-15) requires a fishing license to fish a subdivision’s private lake
  • Ice fishing is allowed but not closer than 50ft from shoreline
  • Quiet time on the lakes is before 9am and after 9pm
  • All Illinois Boating Regulations Apply including having a life jacket for everyone on board and a throwable cushion
